| Q: | What type of memory do you need for this server ? Can you use DDR2 memory?

A: | It is DDR 333
or 266 memory. And you have to install in pairs. You
can not just install one stick of memory. And you can't use DDR2 memory. For your reference, we have a
working server built with 1 GB of total system memory using a pair of
this type of DDR 400 memory: Micron PC3200R-30331-J0 512MB, DDR, 400, CL3, ECC, REG

Q: I just tried to power up this server. But I got no beeping sound and the Power On LED on the motherboard doesn't even light up. Is the included power supply defective ?
A. This
is a high end server system that has many professional features unlike
your standard PC. If you installed CPUs or memory incorrectly or
used incompatible parts with this sytem, the power supply would not
fully turn on to protect the system. Do not jump to the
conclusion that you got a DOA power supply. The Delta made power
supply included is one of the best power supply available for server
systems and you are buying this entire system at a liquidation price
that is about the same as what this power supply would have cost you on
its own if you were to purchase it from a Delta's distributor.
Q: I read it from one of the flyers that SATA is supported but everything else mentioned is SCSI. Can I really use SATA drives in this file server system ?
A: The
motherboard supports either SCSI 320 or SATA depending on which
daughter board is installed. The daughter board that is currently
installed in this system is the dual-port SCSI 320 version.
Sorry, we
do not sell this SATA daughter card. Fortunately, this system
comes
with 3x PCI-X 64/100Mhz slots and 2x PCI-E x4 slots which allows you
the opportunity to purchase SATA controller add-on cards elsewhere.
On the back of the 6 mobile rack drive bays is equipped complete with a SCSI 320 back plane. This setup allows SCSI 320 drives to be inserted or removed instantly even when the system is operating. If such high end feature is of no use to you and you would still like to use SATA hard drives in this drive chassis, you would need to remove the SCSI 320 back plane and connect SATA hard drives to the system via long workable SATA cables.

A: We do not stock any Xeon 800Mhz 604pin CPU, DDR333 memory, or 80pin U320 hard drives. But they are very cheap from other sellers on ebay or your local commodity dealers. You will be amazed how cheap you can put a server up and running utilizing this wonderful barebone server deal!
CPU, Memory, and Hard Drives are sold seperately.
